current location: Edge, Midgar Wastelands, Gaia
current mood: intimidated
current song: Kimi wa Majutsushi? - Orphen OST 2

*sighs wistfully* Oh, if only I could get the heading to flash neon and sparkly to catch everyone attention.

Who: ANYONE AND EVERYONE. Anyone close to Midgar, anyone at all. We'd like to see more people active! Everyone roll along here and see what happens...!

When: Friday, late morning.

What?: Some fiends have stormed the city and mostly everyone is rushing around in a blind panic. Help, hide or destroy, your choice.

Notes: Really just a random event to get people active. C'mon dudes, flock! Also, I'm NPC-ing Denzel in this as being with Zax outside, though I've reserved him in advance and will be playing him soon. ♥

At first it had just been by the city's outskirts, a couple of roguish fiends who seemed to have wanted to try and test their luck at how long they could survive in Edge, the surrounding passerbyers had barely batted an eyelid as some of the city's guards took care of it.

But after a couple came a couple more, and very soon, the entire east side was swarmed with the creatures. And not even the usual, weaker monsters that roamed the wastelands surrounding the recovering settlement, but larger, stronger ones, some of the like that a large portion of the close-minded people of Edge had never seen.

And from that point by the eastern border, the chaos slowly started to spread. Screams of fright because entangles with screams of pain and blood splattered newly set cement, less began to fight and more began to run, closer to the city centre, even those who barricaded themselves into houses and shops couldn't remain safe for long.

Edge started to take a very steep dip into chaos. And nobody knew how, why...

Where: Midgar, Atop the Shinra Headquarters (roof/70th floor)
When: Midday, light and constant breeze.
Notes: I am Gackt. shhh.

_____________________________________________________

The extension of a single black wing shadowed the skeleton structure of the roof to the once extravagant Shinra Headquarters. The sky was mildly overcast, the wind brushed the dark auburn hair of a silohouetted man. His gaze was locked to a rooftop nearby. Along it's silver surface, something was stirring. There, glimmering in the distance was the flow of life, returning to physical form as it recreated a body that had not long ago been taken into it's flowing arms. As the body of a leather clad boy, his shoulder length hair covering his closed eyes appeared, a slow smile arose on his lips. He knew in many places, from many times, the dead arose this day. This one however, would prove useful.

"Our guest has arrived. Bring him here so that we may..talk." His deep voice seemed to resist being lost in the breeze as he turned his head to look to his left side at the strong, silver haired man who stood there.

Clouds slowly rolled across the sky, deepening shadows that dwelled beneath them. Fixating his glowing blue eyes to the horizon, his expression grew thoughtful. Mother gaia in all her glory.., her children whom lived upon her flesh, marring it, repairing it, living their lives. Such a simplicity on the surface beget complexity. She had shifted, convulsed, knowing that he was free upon her surface and that it was he who tugged at the waves of lifestream, beckoning them to move at his will. Peculiar was the scent of flowers that it brought when he attempted it. Perhaps insted it was he-the great general whom he had met only once, but had felt for the ages that he had existed- whom had rocked the planet so carelessly, that she lay groaning. She had become a child vomiting up her sickness. Whatever the truth was, his intentions brought fruit.

Feathers waving in the breeze, a light smile formed on his lips. Where failure had succeeded in the past, it's seed would dawn on this future. He would see to it. It was time to call those whose will cried in echos through the shifts of the oncoming storm.

When: Mid-day
Where: Not to far away in everyone's favorite 'drinking' hole... (Northern Crater)
Who: Sephiroth
Notes: Just the entry post. He'll end up somewhere else soon enough >3 I figured a seperate entry was appropriate since it was too long for a comment and theres not many who can reply to this yet save for myself as Sephiroth makes his way around... 9.e

Sephiroth had faded back into the Lifestream once again. It was unfortunate, but it was only a minor setback. It was only mere moments before he could feel them, those pieces of his spirit he had forced into existence returning as well.

The Ancient girl’s spirit, Aerith…was she was trying to remove Geostigma from the humans’ bodies? How futile! Sephiroth’s presence was not going to be destroyed so easily. She could not make it rain everywhere and she could never remove him from the Lifestream. He would continue to taint it just as he had. In fact, there was already a great deal of power for him to obtain just by merging with the remaining dark strands of the Lifestream that still existed. In mere seconds, the plans for his rebirth fell into place.

“You’re a fool,” echoed Sephiroth’s thoughts through the Lifestream. “You could not destroy my spirit no matter how much you may try, your will is not great enough.” The words echoed harshly as he began to act.

The Lifestream was already in turmoil from his previous actions, ripping parts of it away and calling it to him while he battled with Cloud. Cloud… Yes! He could feel his spirit in the Lifestream. It seemed as though those two shards had done something useful after all. If he could find Cloud’s spirit and take it into his own self as well, then he would be even more powerful than before. And by doing so, he could effectively remove anything that might stand against him. His conscious tore through the Lifestream as he searched, where was he? He could feel he was close, so very close now… There! Aerith was not a fool though. Surely, she felt his intentions as well. Could he beat her to his goal? Of course he could. Or so he had thought. As he was only moments from his target it was ripped from the Lifestream and he ceased to feel it. Aerith had beaten him this time.

Enraged, Sephiroth’s will grabbed hold of the dark Lifestream and twisted it around his spirit, absorbing it into himself. He refused to allow that to hinder him in even the slightest. He would tear away from the Lifestream, gathering everything that he could under his influence to accumulate his power, using it to enforce his will.

”I will emerge anew, and I will force the Lifestream itself to destroy the world from where your influence can do nothing!” He roared as he literally tore the Lifestream apart, ignoring the possible consequences of doing so. All he intended was to emerge from the Northern Crater where it would be easiest to will his body back to material form. Who could have guessed that gathering his widespread will and corruption over the Lifestream to one place would not only make it easier for him to leave the Lifestream, but for the Lifestream itself to push him out of its own will. He felt it as he moved, had his spirit had a face it would have grinned. Sephiroth easily understood two things. Once he left the Lifestream with this power, removing all of his will and influence, he would no longer be able to manipulate the Lifestream directly as he had been while increasing the spread of ‘Geostigma’. He accepted that. The second would be that once he had gained his body back, he would not simply be a man, but he would be a living, breathing chunk of the Lifestream tainted by himself and Jenova inside of a body that acted merely as a shell. There were things he could not be certain of, such as if he be able to will other Sephiroth’s into existence as he had when manipulating pieces of Jenova, or whether he would be able to feel the remaining people with Geostigma and once finding them, be able to absorb the corruption into himself adding to his power? He’d only know when he reformed. What a grand feat this would be, to be renewed even greater then before!

There were only the three shards of his Spirit he needed to reclaim as he drifted, pushed by the Lifestream now. As he reached out with his will and spirit he could feel them drifting further away. What was the Lifestream doing? Was it trying to prevent him from taking them back? No… The Lifestream was rejecting anything to do with him! It was actually forcing those pieces of his spirit out as well. His laugh echoed briefly in the Lifestream before it was silenced…

A harsh light was what first greeted Sephiroth, the light piercing through his closed eyelids. The feeling of the cold and scratching winds of the Northern Crater raked along his face as his nerves reawakened. His breath came shakily, but not from being labored but from excitement. He was solid again. He had a body. He sat up slowly and looked around, His silver bangs whipping in the wind that assaulted him and his long black coat. It was the Northern crater. Standing was not much challenge, and even if it had been it would not have showed. How much of his previous powers did he have? He held out his hand and thought of his sword, his Masamune, and as he willed it, so it was. Black translucent spheres swirled about and solidified the Masamune’s handle, which Sephiroth gripped gently and examined. Yes, it was indeed his Masamune, exactly as he had desired. His laugh started as a quit chuckle but had soon grown into a loud laughter that echoed ominously off the walls of the Crater and even drowned the sound of the rushing winds. He was back in his entirety; body, spirit, will, sword in all. He could even feel Jenova inside.

He was back. And now he would finish what he had started…

Loud clanks from metal pegs being hinged as iron hammers came down on them could be heard down in the street below, drills and other various equipment produced a low hum from a distance. It was not in the slightest bit pleasant to hear. Especially when you were waking up to a sight you'd never seen before.

Those trying to make a life for themselves here found it increasingly difficult. The population had been drastically reduced and what was more troubling was that more people were slowly dying off from the stigma or other means.

Even while the townspeople rubbed sleep from their eyes the work continued on endlessly. It was going to leave even more quickly today.

It seemed like a perfectly ordinary day. The sun was filtering down through the midmorning haze and casting shadows across the dusty roads, buildings and debris. The sky was a vivid blue overhead with a few lingering clouds and there was a slight warmth in the air despite the chill that accompanied it telling those in Edge spring was near even though nothing grew there.

The day stretched on blearily. All those who lived here trudged through the daily ritual of looking for work, looking for food, caring for what was left of their family. Somewhere a dog could be heard yapping, a cat could be heard hissing and overturning a garbage bin, it was nothing they weren't used to.

These people had learned to deal with loss. The loss of parents, the loss of children, wives, husbands, friends...but nothing was like this. Cloud had never seen anything like this.

It was one thing when they pulled bodies from the rubble. It was another when they came from the rubble. They weren't dead and that was what sent the entire city in shock. They were living, breathing, human beings.

Quite suddenly this day had become more than an average day.

Edge was thrown into chaos but he wasn't quite sure what kind it was yet. It was a strange acceptable kind of chaos that sent your mind reeling , your heart would stop beating, all at once you would feel nothing and everything. All he could do was stare blankly.

At least thirty people had come out from the ruins today, he'd read it in the paper, it was on the televisions in the bar and shop windows.

Thirty of them. No one lived there. No one could survive there. Fiends inhabited what was left and would usually kill off or attack lone travelers. Some people had claimed they were parts of their family. Dead mothers or fathers, some had none, some were hopelessly dazed and confused as to who they were.

He had never seen this before and regardless of if he felt it was right or not it was happening.

He had to do something. He had to find out what was going on.

Who, honestly, could he ask though? It wasn't like anyone else really knew what was going on. He'd been out of contact with the others until recently but after weighing it in his mind he decided it couldn't hurt to see if similar things were happening where they lived as well.

Or maybe they would just call him? He sighed softly and looked up ahead, searching the road ahead, he would have to rely on that unless he could find them. They were all terrible about answering their PHS's. Either way. He wanted to know if it was some hoax someone was pulling or if it really was happening...he tried to draw strength from a presence he couldn't feel at the moment and found it futile.

Where are you...? he wondered to himself.
